Our Story

 

There’s more to life than EPC certificates, damp reports and surveyor valuations. Every house we sell is a home; a home to real people, with real feelings —— and it takes a special kind of agent to manage the entire process and the emotions involved. It takes experience, empathy, and a human approach that always sits outside the balance sheet. We don’t believe in overcomplicating things or quoting clichés, we keep it simple, we keep it human.

 

After decades of experience in corporate agencies we thought it was time for a more human way to sell homes. Fiercely independent, we’ve served our time in the big brands focused on targets and commissions. Now we’re focused on people, building trusting relationships that last beyond the sale.

 

Our vision is to make the estate agency experience friendly again. To rid the market of slick suit - wearing corporate robots and bring back the human element. After all, we’re all people, and we’re in it with you, every step of the way.

 

Approachable, friendly, personable, real humans speaking to people like people, trying our hardest not to use clichés or industry jargon, we promise. We’re a tight-knit team of genuine locals who like a pint in the local pub and a hike across the forest just as much as selling and letting houses. It’s what we do.

 

Our journey started in 2017, when we were trying to figure out what on earth to call ourselves our Director, and founder, Allan decided after several days of searching for inspiration he would take a break at the ‘Minstead Shop’ and have a coffee. As he sat there, leaning back and taking a deep breath in had a light bulb moment (quite literally) the ceiling was covered in spotlights, and just like that Spotlight Homes was born!

 

Since then, his (now) wife Michelle joined to take the reins of the lettings side of the business which has gone from strength to strength. During 2020 we took steps to give our rental clients more protection, during a time where this was paramount and so Lettings Management Ltd, as a sister company to Spotlight, now takes care of the residential lettings and protects all our client money with Spotlight still handling the commercial side of things.

 

We moved onto Lyndhurst High Street in 2022, from our Romsey Road Location to our new office. We are supported by Kevin & Maggie who both bring a wealth of experience.

 

Maggie has over 30 years’ experience in property management and takes care of the day-to-day maintenance working both remotely and from the office. Having worked for some very discerning clients she has a fantastic reputation within the industry that our clients benefit from.

 

Kevin helps us on an ad hoc basis when needed, his 30 years’ experience is invaluable, we are lucky to have him as part of our team. Meaning you will always have someone who knows what they are doing helping you every step of the way.

 

 

The Team

Allan

Allan started Spotlight 5 years ago. He wanted to make a different agency, a nice one! He mainly deals in Sales & Commercial these days however is also very experienced in Lettings. Allan holds Propertymark qualifications on both Sales & Lettings.

 

 

Michelle

Michelle joined Allan 5 years ago to run the lettings side of the business. She is a qualified full member of ARLA Propertymark.

Michelle came to Spotlight with a wealth of experience from some of the biggest names in the industry including Your Move, Hamptons International & Carter Jonas.

 

 

 

Maggie

She worked with Michelle before at one of the larger agencies, and brings with her years of property management expertise. When Maggie decided to call it time on her corporate role, we are delighted she chose to call our office home!

 

 

Wookiee

Our head of ‘Pup-lick’ relations. Offers unconditional love to all that come in to the office!
